Terms of Service

Last updated 1 October 2026

About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Waridi, a company based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. They apply when you use waridi.io, Waridi Studio, the Waridi API, SDKs and any of our voice products (together, the "services"). If you use the services for an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms on its behalf.

Early access

Waridi is in early access. Features, models, limits and prices may change, and some features may be labelled preview or beta. We will try to give notice of breaking changes to the API, but early-access services are provided without the service levels that will apply at general availability.

Your account

You must be at least 18 years old to open an account. Keep your login details and API keys secret; you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at hello@waridi.io if you think a key has been exposed so we can help you revoke it.

Your content

You keep ownership of the text, audio and other material you submit, and of the outputs generated for you, subject to the rights of third parties and these terms. You give us a limited licence to process your content only to provide, secure and support the services. We do not use your content to train our models unless you opt in.

You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed for the content you submit, including the consent of anyone whose voice or personal data appears in it.

Voice cloning

You may only clone a voice that is your own, or a voice whose owner has given explicit, informed consent through our verification process. You may not clone the voice of a public figure, a minor, or anyone who has not consented. A voice owner can withdraw consent at any time, and we will then disable the voice. We may suspend any cloned voice where we reasonably suspect consent is missing or the voice is being misused.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the services to:

  • impersonate a real person or organisation, or mislead people about who is speaking;
  • commit fraud, including scam calls, fake emergencies or requests for money or mobile-money PINs;
  • create deceptive political content, election misinformation or fake statements by officials;
  • harass, threaten, or create sexual content involving any real person, or any content involving minors;
  • record or process people's calls without the notices and consents the law requires;
  • break the law, or infringe intellectual property or privacy rights;
  • probe, overload or work around the security and rate limits of the services, or resell access without our written agreement.

If your agents talk to the public, tell callers they are speaking with an automated assistant and give them a way to reach a person.

Fees and payment

Paid plans are billed in advance monthly or yearly at the prices shown when you subscribe. Launch prices are indicative and subject to change at general availability; we will give you notice before a price change applies to you. Taxes are added where required. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the services and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms, if your use creates risk to others, or if the law requires it. Where it is reasonable, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. On termination, you can export your content for 30 days before we delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it.

Our intellectual property

The services, models, voices we create and our brand belong to Waridi. These terms do not give you rights to them except the right to use the services as described here.

Disclaimers

Speech technology makes mistakes. Transcripts, translations and synthetic speech may be inaccurate, especially with noisy audio or unfamiliar vocabulary. Review outputs before relying on them for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions. Except as stated in these terms, the services are provided "as is".

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Waridi is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Disputes will first be discussed in good faith; if they cannot be resolved, they will be decided by the courts of Tanzania.

Changes and contact

We will update these terms as the services develop and will notify you of significant changes before they take effect. Questions: hello@waridi.io. See also our Privacy Policy.
